COMMUNITY OUTREACH
Community Outreach is defined as: "Collaborative, collective action taken by local people to enhance the long-term social, economic, and environmental conditions in their community. The primary goal of community outreach is to create a better overall quality of life for everyone in the community." Although most of us in the Newcomers Club of Cuernavaca are not "local people," we have chosen to try and make a difference during our time in Cuernavaca.
WHAT IS THE COMMUNITY OUTREACH COMMITTEE (COC)?
We are a group of Newcomers Club of Cuernavaca members who meet regularly to coordinate the charitable work of the Newcomers Club of Cuernavaca. We administer donations to charitable organizations; this includes selecting and overseeing the entities that receive Newcomers Club of Cuernavaca funds.
WHAT WE DO
The COC accepts and reviews referrals of charitable organizations from Newcomers Club of Cuernavaca members. The COC also engages in fund-raising activities at the general meetings of the Newcomers Club of Cuernavaca.
PROJECTS WE SPONSOR
The Newcomers Club of Cuernavaca contributes to various charities which serve local communities, including the Hospital General G. Parres of Cuernavaca.
